The Androscoggin Valley Energy Collaborative (AVEC), made up of representatives from Coos Commissioner, Berlin, Gorham, Milan, Randolph, Shelburne, Stark, and Stratford, is hosting a series of public hearings to discuss the warrant articles concerning the adoption of the Androscoggin Valley Community Power Plan and to further authorize the towns of Randolph, Stark, Stratford Select boards and the Berlin City Council to develop and implement the Androscoggin Valley Community Power Plan pursuant to RSA 53-E, offering a more flexible electricity procurement mechanism than Eversource to provide lower default  electricity rates.

AVEC has been studying, for over two years, ways to reduce the costs of energy for the region’s residents and businesses and to promote economic development. They have concluded that the community will benefit from an energy aggregation plan providing default electric power through the Community Power Coalition of New Hampshire (CPCNH).  The CPCNH is  a  non-profit  corporation  operating in accordance with NH RSA 53-A and RSA 53-E. Additional information can be found at:  These hearings will provide an opportunity for the public to learn about and comment on the energy aggregation plan. If you cannot attend the meeting for your town, you are welcome to attend a session for one of the other towns, where the same information will be presented.
